Embellished Ornaments Christmas Card

These cards remind me of my childhood and the delicate ornaments we had on our Christmas tree!

This card starts with a base of Whisper White Thick card stock. It is topped with a layer of Old Olive card stock (5-3/8" x 4-1/8"). The next layer is Whisper White card stock cut to 5-1/4" x 4").

I first stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the top layer (always stamp first if possible so if you mess up, you can turn the paper over or even throw away without wasting your time with the rest of the instructions). I used two different sentiments for the fronts of these series of cards. One comes from the Jar of Cheer stamp set and the other comes from the Embellished Ornaments stamp set. I stamped these in Old Olive ink.

The top layer is embossed using the Pine Bough Embossing Folder. I then took a sponge dauber and lightly ran over the embossed images in Old Olive Ink.

On a scrap piece of Whisper White, I stamped the ornaments I wanted to use. I was making a series of these cards so used a lot of different inks: Melon Mambo, Sweet Sugarplum, Perfect Plum, Real Red, and Tempting Turquoise. You can use any ink color you choose! I then cut out the ornaments using the Delicate Ornament thinlit dies with the Big Shot and magnetic platform.

I love the sparkle and used Wink of Stella over the colored parts of the ornaments.

(FYI: Wink of Stella is water-based so will smear the dye inks over the white part if you are not careful!)

Next I added three small rhinestones in the centers of the flowers on the ornaments.

I took some silver or gold cording and ran it through the ornament tops and looped it over the top of the white card top to create a hanging ornament. I attached the cord just using tape on the back.

I cut out the ornament tops using silver foil and gold foil paper. I attached them to the ornaments using glue dots.

I then attached the ornament to the card front using dimensionals.

The top layer was then attached to the Old Olive piece using Fast Fuse.
