OnStage Savannah pillow gift

When we go to Stampin Up! events, staying overnight, we generally give gifts to our roommate.  This is the gift I made for my roommate and downline, Susanne.

I wanted to make something that she could use on her desk and this is what I came up with.  I took Designer Paper that was available during Sale-a-Bration and covered an empty Project Life box.  I used Tear and Tape to adhere the paper on the sides of both the top and bottom.  I love these Hot Air Balloons!  And I'm happy that this set is carrying over to the new catalog coming out June 1.

Here is the top of the box

I layered cardstock to cover the top and made the Stitched Shapes squares into rectangles.  I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy from the stamp set that came with the Watercolor Wishes kit (retiring).  I stamped the clouds in Smoky Slate and cut out them out using the Up & Away thinlit dies. The hot air balloons were stamped in Basic Black archival ink and then cut out using those same framelits.  The large hot air balloon was cut out using the dies in Night of Navy and then using watermelon wonder, peekaboo peach, mint macaron and dapper denim cardstock.  Making these are so easy using the framelits and its a great way to use scraps.  I used the fine tip glue to adhere those smaller parts to the large balloon.  The two smaller balloons were colored in using ink and blender pens in those same colors.  You can also color the balloons with markers or with an aquapainter.

For the inside of the box:

I cut up some heavyweight printer paper to fill the back space with note paper.  I took a RSVP pen (available at Staples, Walmart, etc) and took a small strip of the same paper and filled the clear body of the pen with it to make the pen match.  I then added some post-it notes and flags.

This was a fun and easy project to do and a great way to use up those empty Project Life boxes!
