Butterfly Kisses Hello

One of the cards I sent out this month in thanks and appreciation to my customers was this Butterfly Kisses card

It uses the Butterfly Kisses DSP but I'm not especially crazy about the butterflies on the paper!  I really prefer the other patterns and loved this flowery side!  This card also uses a side gate-fold technique.  Instead of having the opening in the middle, it is more to the side.

All the details:

  • Fresh Freesia cardstock for the base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 1 1/2" and 5 3/4"
  • Butterfly DSP cut at 2 1/2" x 5 1/4" and 2 3/4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White enough to cut the circle from Stylish Shapes Dies
  • Parakeet Party cardstock to cut the circle from the Layering Circle Dies
  • Greeting was from Nature's Prints and stamped using Fresh Freesia ink and attached to the side with dimensionals to overlap the other side (don't adhere to the right side)
  • I did cut a piece of Basic White 5 1/4" x 4" and die cut using the Stitched Rectangle dies for the inside (no sentiment inside)

May Paper Pumpkin Cards

The May Paper Pumpkin kit was all about the new In colors!  AND they are made for gift card holders!  I made several of the cards as directed but mostly I like to change things up a bit!

This card was one I made for my husband for our anniversary coming on the 17th!  I did not add the gift card holder to the inside.

All the rest of the cards I made for birthdays!

And this last card I made as a thank you card.

Did you know that if you are a subscriber, you can purchase past kits or refills?  This would be a great kit to get a refill!

Birthday Gift Card Holders

A friend of mine asked me to make her some gift card holders for birthdays.  While some that I made are specifically for birthdays (using the Light the Candles kit), the others can be used as a template for any occasion.

Here are the quick and easy gift card holder cards I made using the Light the Candles kit:

I took the card bases that were included in the kit and scored the front edge at 1" and folded over to make a place to hold the card.  I cut out a notch using the cloud punch (just found a rounded edge and did that) but you can use a circle punch.

Once I punched the notch I taped down the edges using Seal+, but Tear & Tape works great too!

Since I folded down part of the card front, it left a white edge of 1" showing on the card base so I took a 5 1/2" x 1" strip of DSP (using the Rainbows paper from Sale-a-Bration) and put on that white piece to make the card complete.

On the second card above (the one with the green base), the kit has the card horizontal with candles all across the front.  I turned it on it's side and cut the larger candle die cuts in half to make the gift card holder.  Otherwise I put the cards together as the kit directed using the pieces in the kit.

The other cards I made can be made with any paper you have.  Some are with new DSP and others with retired paper.  Use what you have!

This first card uses the Expressions in Ink paper:

  "

This next one uses the Hues of Happiness DSP:

Here is one using the Hydrangea paper from last year:

The final two use the Strawberry paper from last year:

    1/4

Now for how I made those cards above.  Take your cardstock and cut at 4 1/4" x 11".  Score at 5 1/2" and at 1 1/4" (to form the pocket for the gift card).  Cut a notch in the gift card pocket.  Decorate the card front however you choose and dont' forget to decorate the envelope too!

Some of the products I used are listed below.

Hues of Happiness Friend Card

I made this card as a thank you for one of my customers.  The way this card is made you can make 24 cards from 2 sheets of paper from the Hues of Happiness DSP.  I love this paper!  You'll see many more cards made from this DSP.  Just a little paper makes a huge impact!

Here is the inside of the card

All the details:

The base is Basic White Thick cardstock.  I took a piece of Basic White cardstock cut 5 1/4" x 4" and ran it through the Cut & Emboss machine using the Gingham 3D Embossing folder.

I cut 1" strips of the DSP (this makes 12 strips) and then cut them to 5 1/4" length (making 24 strips).  I took the sheet of DSP that has the flowers and leaves that the dies will cut out.  I then die cut the flowers and leaves.  You could also fussy-cut them too.  There are a couple of flowers and leaves that there is no die for so I fussy cut those.  I went ahead and did them all and put in a dvd case for future cards.

Using dimensionals I put them on the card front.  I stamped the sentiment on  Basic White and then die cut out using the Stylish Shapes dies (love, love, love these new dies!) and attached using dimensionals.  I then decorated the front using the In Color opal rounds.
