Are You a Paper Hoarder?

Stampin' Up! creates such beautiful Designer Series Paper and I have often hated to cut into them BUT now, I'm telling you to CUT IT UP!  With each catalog there is even more beautiful paper so use what you have and create some beautiful cards!

Today I am sharing some One Sheet Wonder cards using a 6 x 6 piece of paper.  (Only have 12 x 12?  Cut out a 6 x 6 piece!)  I've made 4 cards using this one sheet of paper.  One of the cards has a "bookmark" on it so you could make 3 cards plus a bookmark if that's your preference.

The first set was made using the new Garden Impressions paper stack.  Oh, my gosh!  These are some beautiful papers and wonderful colors!  Any of the would do for this technique.  I chose the one I did because I love blue and yellow.

I used So Saffron, Pacfic Point, Sea Foam Green and some Blueberry Bushel cardstock.  On the card with the Sea Foam, I wish now I had embossed that sheet--it would have looked better.  But I was in a hurry to get them made before heading out to the beach!

The stamp sets used were Detailed with Love Bundle (for the Happy birthday greetings and the punch in the bundle made the flower cutouts on the seafoam piece), Enjoy Life (for the thank you kindly and the saying on the bookmark as well as the flowers and butterflies on the card), and Stitched All Around (Enjoy your Special Day).  The Stitched All Around comes in a bundle (save 10%!) but I didn't use the dies for this card.

My second set of cards (using the same dimensions as the first) uses the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Paper.  It's 12 x 12 so I just cut up a 6 x 6 piece of it.  You could use the entire sheet and 16 cards.  I used Whisper White Thick, Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, and Rich Razzleberry cardstock.

You can't see the shimmer on the paper but it is gorgeous!  And this paper is a little heavier weight so would be great for making boxes or other 3-D items.

The stamp sets used for these cards are Love What You Do (the thank you and flowers, the watercolor background and flowers on the other card), Animal Outing (for the thank you big time)--I have got to use those animals!  They are fabulous!--And there is a bundle so no more fussy cutting those animals. The sentiment set on the pearl doily is from Enjoy Life and the sentiment on the book mark (notice I embossed that piece this time!) comes from Waterfront (such a versatile stamp set!)

Other items used on these cards are:  Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Velvet Ribbon, Whisper White organza ribbon (now retired), Pearlized Doilies, Delicate White Doilies (also retired), Blueberry Bushel 18" grosgrain ribbon, the Detailed Trio Punch, and the Banner Triple Punch.

So, go ahead and cut up your pretty papers!  Use them and don't be a hoarder!  You'll feel better and your craft room will thank you for getting some stuff out of it!

Where Have I Been?

Sorry that I have been "MIA" this past week.  I am at the beach for the month of June and was spending time with my family.  I had all six of my grandchildren here for a bit and all of the ones staying in my condo left for home yesterday.  Hopefully, I will now be able to play with some of my new goodies.  My car was really full of craft supplies so I am hoping I have the energy to actually get some cards made!  Here is a photo of the beach from my balcony

Isn't that peaceful and so lovely?

We had a huge thunderstorm this evening.  It was truly awesome seeing the lightning hitting the ocean.  But there was a lovely rainbow in the midst of it all.

And here is a photo of my grandkids having fun on the beach

And look at this fellow walking on the beach.  Doesn't he remind you of our new stamp set Lilypad Lake?  I may just have to use that stamp set first!

I'll be sharing some cards soon!  Check back!

Blends Are Back!

Ordering for the Blends has been turned back on (current colors only--new ones won't be available until mid-June).  So if you are interested in coloring with alcohol markers, now is the time to get yours in our Stampin' Up! colors.  You can shop here to get yours!

Time is Running Out

Time is running out to take advantage of the ability to purchase the retiring stamp sets and bundles.  All of the current bundles (stamps + dies/punch) go away on May 31.  While many of the individual items in the bundles may carry over to the new catalog, they will not be bundled together, saving you 10%.  Stampin' Up! never puts stamp sets on the clearance rack (they donate any left over stamps) so if there is something in the annual catalog or the Occasions catalog that you particularly want, you should get it while you can.  You really don't want to have to try to find these things on Ebay later, as those prices are always very inflated.

Are you excited about the new catalog?  I certainly am.  The new catalog will go live around noon MT on June 1.  But Stampin' Up!'s website will be down from midnight until they get everything loaded for you to purchase.  They anticipate that it will be noon but could come up earlier.  If you still need a catalog, just request one and I'll be happy to mail one out to you!

Memorial Day 2018

Today is Memorial Day, often thought of as the kick-off to summer (and when you can begin wearing white shoes) BUT while that may be the case, Memorial Day is all about honoring the servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe and to protect freedom.

As the spouse of a retired army officer who spent almost 29 years in the service, I am highly aware of the possiblity of that ultimate sacrifice.  So today is a day to honor those who gave their lives and their families who have also made the sacrifice of their loved ones.

Curious About the New Ink Pads?

As you may, or may not, know, Stampin' Up! has re-designed their stamp pads.  Because they make these pads themselves, the molds are good for only so many years before becoming cracked or unusable.  Since they were going to have to make new molds anyway, they decided on a new, sleeker design.  Because they were not satisfied with some of the newer inks, they've also improved the inks and the refills.

Here is a video you can watch all about the new stamp pads:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TybWeSn-tqc&feature=youtu.be

The new pads open easier, have a lower and smaller profile, and they stack!  No more stamp pads sliding off my craft desk!

Right now you can purchase a set of the new In Color ink pads and save 10% on the set.  Aren't these yummy colors?  When the new catalog goes live on June 1st (around noon) you'll be able to get any color in the new cases.

Did You Know? Current Bundles Going Away

In the current catalog there are loads of bundles.  Whenever a bundle is introduced, it lasts only until the next catalog and then it goes to full price. Some are stamps and dies and some are stamps and punch bundles.  While some of the stamps and dies or punches may carry over to the new catalog, those bundles will not!  If you purchase them now, you'll save 10% so while you can wait to get the stamps and dies that you want, you won't be able to save on the bundle.  And not all of the items are carrying over!  Those will just go away and you'll have to search for them elsewhere, often at hugely inflated prices.

Some examples of bundles that will be going away:  The Eastern Palace bundle--both stamps and dies will carryover but not the bundle!  And this bundle makes some gorgeous cards!

That beautiful paper is going away.  I'm always sad to see all of our beautiful papers retire but love all the new things coming up!

One of my absolute favorite bundles is the Coffee Cafe bundle.  I loved making this Coffee Cafe gift card holder.

And another favorite is the Oh So Eclectic Bundle.  This bundle also comes in wood mount if that's what you prefer.  I love all the things you can do with the dies that don't even require the stamp set.  But this set makes me happy!

One bundle that includes a punch is the Daisy Delight Bundle.

And there are so many more!  Don't forget about all the bundles in the Occasions catalog too!  Purchase any of the bundles now and save 10%!  After May 31, those items will no longer be bundled together and will be full price.
