5 Years!

This is the 5th anniversary of Paper Pumpkin and the kit for March is special.  It includes a free gift and a specially designed box.  Not sure what Paper Pumpkin is all about?  It's a surprise in a box that arrives every month.  It includes all you need to complete the kit.  The first kit you get includes a clear stamping block.  Subsequent kits include all the stamps, at least one ink spot, cardstock, embellishments, envelopes, glue dots, dimensionals and anything else you would need.  Not all the kits are cards but most are and they make 6-12 cards.  Usually, there are a lot of leftover pieces so you can continue to make cards using your own supplies. The cost is ~$20/month.  The stamps included in the kits are all exclusive photopolymer stamps.  As a subscriber, you have the option to purchase past kits that are available.  Many kits sell out.  You must subscribe by March 10 to get this kit.  There are several ways to subscribe.

You can do a month to month subscription (you can suspend your subscription if you don't want to get a month's kit--it's all in your control).  You can subscribe here or click on the monthly kit link above.

You can also do a prepaid subscription (one month, 3-month, 6-month, 12-month).  You save by purchasing the 6 or 12-month ones over the cost of the month to month.  The nice thing about the prepaid subscriptions is that right now during Sale-a-Bration, you also earn Sale-a-Bration rewards!

To get the prepaid kits, add them to any order or you can click hereIMPORTANT!  When you purchase a prepaid kit, Stampin' Up! will send you an email containing a code for that kit.  Make sure you go to http://bit.ly/PaperPumpkinSubscribe and set up an account.  You will then put your code in and you'll be set.  Just don't wait until the last minute if you want this March kit.  Order early enough to get the email from Stampin' Up! and use the code by March 10!

If you've subscribed before but haven't for a while, these new kits are wonderful!  They just keep getting better and better!  Stampin' Up! has listened to our concerns about the early kits and made changes.

Heartfelt Blooms Swap Card

I am involved in a monthly swap with a group of fellow demonstrators and our swap theme for February was Sale-a-Bration!  We had to use at least one Sale-a-Bration item on our card--I used two of them.

Here is the card I made, using the Spotlight technique (you color only a portion of the stamped image to spotlight it):

You can't tell from the photo but it does have Wink of Stella on the flower center.  This Heartfelt Blooms stamp set is FREE with a $50 order and is available only until the end of March.  This stamp set uses a new technique and the stamps are called Disinktive stamps.  This is where the artist created the image and then photographed it to create a photographic image stamp.  You can make monochromatic cards using any ink or you can do like I did and color in an image.  I used my Blends to color this image (use a dye ink to stamp your image first) or you can use watercolor pencils or watercolor (use archival ink first for the image).

Enjoy!  And remember Sale-a-Bration ends March 31!

NEW Sale-a-Bration items Added

Stampin' Up! has added new items for Sale-a-Bration.

Here are close-ups of each:

That embossing folder is gorgeous!  And those Springtime Foils--wow!  My shipment of these items should be arriving today--can't wait to play with them!

Party Panda Friend Card

I love the Olympics!  I've been watching the TV pretty non-stop!  As a result, I've been MIA from my craft room for a bit.  Needing to make a Valentine I put together one (I'll show it after it is given) and this Party Panda Friend card.  I've seen some really great cards using this stamp set!  You can only get this stamp set FREE if you make a $50+ purchase before March 31.

I had been experimenting with my Brother Scan N Cut in cutting out my pandas so I had several stamped and cut out.  I had also embossed that strip of cardstock too.  They went together very well!  Because this stamp has so much solid surface, it can be hard to get a good image.  I used my MISTI but cannot wait until my Stamparatus comes later this month!  It will make stamping so much easier!  If you don't have a stamping tool, you can add color to any of your images by pulling up color from your ink pad with your blender pen.  I've seen others fill it in with a Sharpie but I've found the blender pen works the best to look like it was stamped--the other markers look different.

All the details and printable instructions are here.

Still need the Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs?  Request one here and I'll be happy to mail them out to you!  Sale-a-Bration ends March 31 but the Occasions catalog is good until the end of May.

Lots of Lavender

Today I am starting a series of cards showcasing the Sale-a-Bration items you can get for FREE with a $50 purchase.  I had planned to start this at the first of the year, but you know, the best-laid plans...  I was sick, tired, lost my mojo, and just didn't feel like crafting.  I went two or more weeks without making a single card and that's just unheard of for me!  This past week I spent most of the week in Atlanta with my son and his family.  His 5-year-old daughter had shingles and had to stay home from school so I went over there to help out.  I rushed out the door and forgot the Paper Pumpkin kits I planned to take with me so I could craft with her!  She loves to craft and I really want to see if she's as interested in stamping as I am!  Once I got home, I was energized and started this series.

Here is the first card using two stamp sets available for Sale-a-Bration.

The main image is watercolored onto Shimmery White Cardstock using the Lots of Lavender stamp set and the sentiment is from Heartfelt Blooms.
