Pikachu Valentines Box

My grandson requested a Pikachu Valentines box to have for his party in his pre-school class.  Using Pinterest, I found some samples and made mine.

I used all Stampin' Up! materials (to include the box I covered)!  Some of the items are now retired (the Little Letters dies) but I used Daffodil Delight,  Whisper White, Real Red, and Basic Black card stock.  A lot used punches to make the eyes and cheeks and then I made the tongue freehand.

Aunt Leola

On Saturday, we laid to rest this wonderful lady.  It was a beautiful ceremony in Ooltewah, Tennessee.  She was my husband's aunt and had just turned 100 on the 16th of January.  We went to her party and are so happy we got to spend some time with her.  Here is a photo we took with my husband, daughter, grandson, Aunt Leola and me

And here she is holding the frame piece I made her for her birthday

Aunt Leola was one of the first to welcome me to the family and was always loving and supportive.  RIP Aunt Leola

January Swap Card--Valentine!

For our January swap, we were to choose something from the new Occasions catalog or the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  I decided to make Valentines!

I don't know if you can see it in the picture, but I used the Real Red Glitter embossing powder that carried over from the Holiday catalog.  I made several of the hearts and was really disappointed in how they were looking.  It was the first time I had used the glitter embossing powder and just wasn't happy.  I do a LOT of embossing ( I make thank you tags for my daughter-in-law's business) and so I looked at my Versamark pad and thought "maybe it needs to be re-inked".  Well, that solved the problem!  It just needed more Versamark to make the glitter powder stick better!  Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of those cards and just have the cards that didn't emboss well.  Oh, well.

In my instructions (available here), I give some tips on how you can emboss the image without the glitter embossing powder or even the retired real red embossing powder!  Make sure you check that out!  You can emboss in any color without colored embossing powder!

I'm going to be sending out some of these Valentines that remain and add some additional embellishments (the Sending Love embellishments--those cute wooden elements--142735)

Succulent Garden One Sheet Wonder Cards 5, 6 and 7

You know those best-laid plans?  Yeah, they didn't happen.  I had made all these cards and planned to post them every couple of days but it just didn't happen.  Life sometimes gets in the way and that happened to me.  My husband and I have been involved making a Lego table for 3 of our grandsons.  This is a Christmas present delayed.  We didn't like any of the ones we found for sale and thought we could make something better.  We're going to take it to them this weekend. AND I've been in a bit of a funk and my mojo ran away.  Guess I just didn't want to do much of anything.  Sorry.)

Here is the next card in my Succulent Garden Designer Paper One Sheet Wonder series:

These are all very easy cards to make and reproduce.  The instructions for this card can be found here
