It's a great time to stock up on adhesives, note cards, cardstock, kits, and some stamp sets.

World Card Making Day Special Deals

World Card Making Day is the first Saturday in October (so Oct 6 this year).

I am holding a World Card Making Day event at my house.  It is my normal Open Studio Hours (come anytime between 11 and 4).  You can come and play with all my products.  Try before you buy!  You can try out new stamp sets, new embossing folders, new dies.  You can bring your own projects to work on or just try out my supplies.  For WCMD, I will have a small make and take for you to make and there will be a Door Prize drawing!

Now, onto the sales!  Stampin' Up! is offering 10% off sales on any products--kits, stamps, cardstock, and adhesives!

Just click on the photo above to be taken to the Stampin' Up! website so you can better see what is available on this sale or click here

NOW is a great time to purchase a Starter kit!  For $99, you can purchase $125 worth of product.  With the WCMD deals above, you could really add value to your kit!  You can get yours at http://bit.ly/JointheFunwithBecky.  Add a Stamparatus (if you don't already have one) and the new accessories!  I would love to talk to you about the kit and joining my team!

NEW Stamparatus® Accessories

Available beginning today, Stampin' Up! is offering new accessories for your Stamparatus®!

You can now purchase grid paper to use on your platform and keep the surface clean.  So stamp away and then just throw away the paper!  Extra plates are also available--now even more surfaces to make your stamping easier!  Get an extra foam mat.  You can purchase these separately or get them together in a bundle.  I had created my own grid paper by cutting up my large sheets of grid paper but, wow is this easier!  Extra magnets are also available (Make sure you cover your magnets--I used heavy-duty glitter washi tape--and use only one at a time so that they don't attract and break).

Don't have a stamparatus yet?  You can purchase one here and make your stamping life so much easier!

Last Day to Redeem!

Today is the last day to redeem your $5 Bonus Coupons!  If you placed a $50 order in August, you should have received an email from Stampin' Up! with a coupon code.  One $5 coupon for every $50 you ordered.

Today is also the last day of the Dashing Along promotion.  Place a $250 order (either your own or with some friends) and you'll receive a pack of this beautiful Christmas paper absolutely free!  Nothing to do, no codes to add, Stampin' Up! will automatically send it to you!

More great deals coming up in October!

Treat Bags

I sit on the board of a non-profit (Blount Hospitality House) here in Huntsville.  It's like a Ronald McDonald house, but for adults.  We serve clients undergoing treatment for cancer and other illnesses, families of injured hospital patients, and parents with babies in the NICU.  We subsist on several fundraisers each year, as we are not fully supported by the local hospitals.  One of our fundraisers is the Blossomwood Witches' Ride.  This is a parade of sorts of women on bicycles dressed as witches who ride through the Blossomwood neighborhood handing out candy.  It's a fun time and the riders pay to participate.  All proceeds go to the Blount House.  This year I am one of the sponsors and as sponsors, we can put promotional items in the goody bags given out to the riders.

I decided to make treat bags with candy and a business card inside.  That's got to be better than just getting a flyer in the bag, right? It has been a daunting task, one that I did not totally complete.  I needed to make 300 items and vastly underestimated the time it would take to make them.  Nevertheless, I made a valiant effort and got about half done with cute stamping and pretty papers.  The others will just have to get a bag of candy.  Oh, well, lesson learned!  It was a last-minute decision to sponsor this and next year I'll know to start a lot earlier!

I first made the treat bags in the September Paper Pumpkin kit.  They were so cute and I made good use of the stickers in the kit by not using them all on these treat bags and saved some for other, plainer bags.

I then used a lot of retired designer series paper, retired stamps, and current products to produce the rest of the bags I made.

Here are some of the bags using the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper and the Cauldron Bubble bundle  (they were ideal for this project!).  I either used the dies to cut out the images or I fussy cut them/used my Scan N Cut.  I then used dimensionals to put them on the labels.

And here is the box of 150+ treat bags!

I'm happy to say I am thrilled to be done!

August Paper Pumpkin Sympathy Card

It's never easy having to make a sympathy card and unfortunately, I've needed two in the past two weeks for family members. One of the wonderful things about Stampin' Up! is the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit.  I had received my August 2018 kit but had not had time to make the cards in it, but it was perfect for what I needed to make today.  This kit comes with everything  (ink, stamps, card bases, labels, leaf die cuts, glue dots, and dimensionals) you need to make the cards but I made a few changes.

I could have made the card exactly as designed in the Paper Pumpkin kit, but I have a hard time doing that without stepping it up some.  I cut down one of the cards to make the front 4 x 5.25.  I then added a sheet of Old Olive 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 behind it and adhered it to a card base of Blackberry Bliss.  I stamped the sentiment on one of the labels (it's trimmed in silver and has matching envelopes in silver) in the kit using the Blackberry Bliss ink spot included. If you want those silver foil-edged envelopes, you can now purchase them with matching cards (they also come in gold).   I die cut the Old Olive piece using the Stitched Seasons Framelits dies to back the label.  I made a small bow using Fresh Fig 1/8" Sheer Ribbon as it's close enough to use on this card

When I cut down the card base included in the kit, I got a small strip of the printed florals attached to the white back.  I then cut that down to fit in the inside of the card.  I used the Kindness & Compassion stamp set for the inside sentiment.

So, you can make the cards just as the kit is designed or make them however you prefer.  Below you'll see the cards as designed.

If you aren't a subscriber, then you have missed out on this gorgeous kit BUT one of the perks of being a subscriber is purchasing past kits.  Normally those kits become available about 3 months after they first come out if there are any left.  You can become a subscriber and then have the option to purchase some past kits.  Interested?  Subscribe here!  You will control your subscription and can suspend at any time.  Want to see some alternative cards for this kit and others?  You need to check out the official Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin Pinterest page!

It's never easy having to make these type cards, but Paper Pumpkin can really help when you are emotionally upset!
