F un get well card for some rough times using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Garden Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of green with white and blue stripes plaid design from Country Club Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" from Soft Suede Cardstock, cut in half on a diagonal from upper right to lower left corner
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Country Club Designer Paper to the front of the Garden Green card.
Lightly spritz the Soft Suede rectangles with water and insert into the Stone 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock pieces inside on your die cutting and embossing tool and run through the machine. Set aside to dry.
Mount the upside down turtle image from the Back On Your Feet Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle so the top of the turtle's head is about 1/2" from the top of the rectangle.
Mount the "SIGH..." sentiment from the Back on Your Feet Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle about 1/2" below the bottom of the turtle.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the designer paper that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the turtle rectangle on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas.
Use the Dark and Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends Markers to color in the turtle's head, neck, and legs. Leave the eye white.
Use the Dark and Light Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends Markers to color in the rim and squares on the turtle's shell.
Use the Dark and Light Soft Suede Stampin' Blends Markers to color in the turtle's belly shell and the spaces between the squares on the shell. Also use them to color in the dirt/shadow beneath the turtle. Just be careful not to color over the stamped sentiment.
Use the fine tip of the Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blends Marker to color a little around the turtle's eyeball.
Use the Color Lifter Marker as needed to remove excess color.
If the dry embossed Soft Suede triangles are dry, proceed with the next step.
Tip: You can speed up drying with a Heat Tool if needed.
Adhere the dry embossed Soft Suede triangles to the front of the card so they are centered and are about 1/4" apart.
Adhere the colored turtle rectangle to the front of the card so it is centered over the dry embossed triangles.
