Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Blushing Bride, So Saffron, or Highland Heather Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of watery pink, yellow, or purple design from Simply Marbleous 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 2" x 4-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 2-1/2" of marbled pink, yellow, or purple design from Simply Marbleous 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 1-3/4" of watery pink, yellow, or purple design from Simply Marbleous 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 1/4" x 2" from Flirty Flamingo, Gorgeous Grape, or Bumblebee Cardstock
Mount the grouping of butterflies image from the Catching Butterflies Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Flirty Flamingo, Gorgeous Grape, or Bumblebee Ink Pad. Stamp it repeatedly all over the large, vertical watery design rectangle of Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the paper. Change the orientation of the stamp a bit every so often.
Tip: If making multiple cards of different colors, remember to clean the stamp between colors using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy.
Adhere the butterfly stamped designer paper rectangle to the front of the Blushing Bride, So Saffron, or Highland Heather card.
Unlock the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. Slide one short edge of the white strip into the punch as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
Mount the "collecting sweet thoughts of you" or the "celebrate every beautiful thing" sentiment from the Catching Butterflies Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad, Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad, or Bumblebee Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the top of the tag about 3/8" from the bottom of the hole in the top of the tag.
Tip: If making multiple cards of different colors, remember to clean the stamp between colors using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy.
Adhere the piece of marbled Simply Marbleous Designer Paper to the bottom of the tag so it is about 1/4" below the bottom of the sentiment.
Pick out the tiny scalloped edge with stitching die from the Basic Borders Dies. Put it on top of the bottom of the stamped and layered tag on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the die will cut a straight scalloped edge across the bottom of the tag about 1-3/4" from the top of the designer paper. Run through the machine.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the thin strip of Flirty Flamingo, Gorgeous Grape, or Bumblebee cardstock to the tag so it covers the seam between the designer paper and the cardstock.
Cut a 4" piece of the White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Use the brush tip of the Dark Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron, or Highland Heather Stampin' Blends to color the ribbon.
Slide one end of the colored ribbon through the hole in the top of the tag. Pull the ribbon through so it is even.
Cut a 9" piece of the white twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.
Tie the twine around the colored ribbon just above the top of the tag using a small bow. Trim the ends of the twine and the ribbon.
Adhere the stamped, layered, die cut tag with ribbon attached to the front of the card at a slight angle as shown.
Mount the girl with net image from the Catching Butterflies Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white square. Leave the stamp on the block. Don't worry about stamping the net, you will be cutting it off anyway.
Re-ink the dress area of the girl with net image on Block E with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small rectangle of watery design Simply Marbleous Designer Paper. Set the stamped piece of designer paper aside for now.
Put the stamped girl image on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the fine tip of the Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends to add little dots of color to the girl's cheeks if desired.
Use the fine tip of the Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends to outline the girl's smile if desired.
Use the Natural Tones Stampin' Blends of your choice to color in the girl's face, neck, hands, and legs.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to blend the colors on her face and remove some of the color from the center of her face if desired.
Use the Natural Tones Stampin' Blends of your choice and/or So Saffron Stampin' Blends to add some streaks and to color in the rest of the girl's hair and blend in the streaks.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Don't worry about coloring in the girl's dress.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to carefully cut out the girl. Cut the net and stick off.
If desired, put the cut out girl back on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Use the Natural Tones Stampin' Blends of your choice to color over the edges of the cut out girl removing any spots of white.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to carefully cut out the girl's dress from the stamped piece of designer paper.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the girl's dress cut out over the top of the dress on the stamped and colored girl cut out.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the stamped, colored, and paper pieced girl cut out to the front of the card so she overlaps the left edge of the tag as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one large butterfly from a sheet of Brushed Brass Butterflies making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the right edge of the tag at a slight angle so it is centered over the thin strip of darker cardstock as shown.
