Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Misty Moonlight Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 4" from Misty Moonlight Cardstock
- 3-1/2" x 4" of gray and blue woodgrain design from Country Woods 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the woodgrain is running horizontally across the vertical rectangle
- 2-1/4" square from Misty Moonlight Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 1-3/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2" from Petal Pink Cardstock
- 1" square from Pool Party Cardstock
Insert the large white rectangle into the Timber 3D Embossing Folder so the grain runs horizontally across the vertical rectangle. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
As you are ready to stamp using the Country Birdhouse Set, place the cardstock or designer paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "hello friend" sentiment from the Country Birdhouse Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment on the bottom right edge of the vertical 1-1/4" x 4" Misty Moonlight rectangle.
Adhere the sentiment stamped Misty Moonlight rectangle to the bottom of the vertical, dry embossed white rectangle.
Cut a 4-3/4" piece of the Petal Pink ribbon included in the Petal Pink & White 1/4" Diagonal Trim Combo Pack.
Lay the ribbon across the white/Misty Moonlight rectangle so it covers the seam between the two pieces . Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the white rectangle. Adhere to the front of the Misty Moonlight card.
Mount the large birdhouse image from the Country Birdhouse Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Country Woods Designer Paper rectangle so the woodgrain runs horizontally across the vertical birdhouse image.
Pick out the matching, open birdhouse die from the Country Birdhouse Dies. Put it on top of the stamped birdhouse image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Pick out the small, circle with a bar and tiny circle in the center die from the Country Birdhouse Dies. Put it on top of the birdhouse cut out on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over larger circle image on the birdhouse. Run through the machine.
Pick out the scalloped edge roof die from the Country Birdhouse Dies. Put it on top of the Misty Moonlight square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the Misty Moonlight scalloped roof cut out to the birdhouse cut out as shown.
Place the birdhouse cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark Basic Black Stampin' Blends to color in the small hole on the birdhouse.
Adhere the colored and layered birdhouse cut out to the front of the card so it is centered side to side and the bottom just tucks under the top of the ribbon.
Mount the bird image from the Country Birdhouse Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small white rectangle.
Pick out the matching, open bird die from the Country Birdhouse Dies. Put it on top of the stamped bird image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Tip: I find it better to cut out images before coloring them in. That way if the die slips as you are cutting you haven't wasted time and ink on the image.
Place the bird cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the fine tip of the Dark Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends to color in the bird's beak and feet.
Use the Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends to color in the bird's head, chest, and belly.
Use the Dark and Light Misty Moonlight Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the bird.
Use the Light Petal Pink Stampin' Blends or Color Lifter to blend the colors around the bird's neck.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the bird cut out to the front of the card as shown so his feet are just above the ribbon on the left side of the bottom of the birdhouse.
Pick out the larger, solid flower die, the medium solid flower die, and one of the smaller, solid flower dies from the Country Birdhouse Dies. Put the large and medium flower dies on top of the Petal Pink rectangle and the small flower die on top of the small Pool Party square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies and cardstock do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the large Petal Pink flower cut out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the bottom left side of the bird.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the remaining two flowers to adhere them to the front of the card as shown so they overlap each other, the big flower, and the bird a bit.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 large and 2 small Basic Gray pearls from a sheet of Basic Gray & Smoky Slate Pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the flower cut outs.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Petal Pink ribbon included in the Petal Pink & White 1/4" Diagonal Trim Combo Pack.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front on the right side of the card as shown. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
