Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- 2 pieces each 6-1/4" x 4" from Mossy Meadow Cardstock
- 3-1/4" x 8-1/4" from Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper
- 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 2-1/4" x 10-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3" x 5-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" from So Saffron Cardstock
Pick out the half box die from the Perfect Parcel Dies. Put it on top of one of the large cardstock rectangles on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Repeat with the other large cardstock rectangle.
Fold on all score lines on both box half pieces using a Bone Folder.
Put strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the tabs on the ends of both box half pieces as shown.
Put small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the upper corners of both box half pieces as shown. Make sure these pieces are on the opposite side from the Tear & Tape pieces on the end tabs.
Remove the protective backing on the Tear & Tape pieces on the tab ends of one box half piece. Adhere it to the other box half piece as shown. Make sure the flat edges of each box half piece are on the bottom. Make sure the score lines match up.
Tip: Roll excess Tear & Tape hanging over the edge of the end tabs inward using your fingers.
Remove the protective backing on the Tear & Tape pieces on the tab ends of the other box half piece. Adhere it to the other end of the other box half piece to make the rectangle box. Make sure the score lines match up.
Tip: Roll excess Tear & Tape hanging over the edge of the end tabs inward using your fingers.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape pieces on one of the triangles on the bottom of the box and adhere it to the bottom side flap of the box. Repeat with the triangle on the other side.
Push down on the bottom of the box to make the long flaps tuck under the triangle end flaps as shown.
Fold the long flaps of the top of the box inward so the pointy flaps stick out to the sides as shown.
Open the top flaps and put in whatever treats you want in the box. Close the top flaps again and tuck the pointy end flaps into the slits cut into the sides of the box. One side of the box is shown.
The top of the closed box should look like this.
Place the top of the box upside down in the center of the strip of designer paper. Wrap the designer paper around the center of the box so the ends of the designer paper overlap on the bottom of the box. Use your fingers to crease the paper as it goes around the edges of the box.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive across one end of the designer paper. Remove the protective backing and adhere the end to the other end of the designer paper making a belly band around the box that will slide on and off.
Unlock the 1-1/2" Circle Punch. Slide the 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" white strip into the punch. Punch.
Unlock the Hot Air Balloon Punch. Slide one of the 2-1/4" x 10-1/2" white strips into the punch. Punch out four of the large balloons from the strip. Repeat with the other strip.
Pick out the larger, open 3-petal die and the smaller, open 3-petal die and the partially closed 3-petal die from the Magnolia Memory Dies. Put all three dies on top of the 3" x 5-1/2" white rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and/or paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces if necessary.
Use the Bone Folder to lightly curl all of the Magnolia Memory petal die cut outs and all of the Hot Air Balloon punch outs.
Rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Petal Pink Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, lightly rub the inky dauber over the edges and centers of the Magnolia Memory petal die cuts and Hot Air Balloon punch outs. Repeat until you have the color coverage you want on each. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Put pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive on top of the 1-1/2" Circle punch out. Remove the protective backings and adhere 4 of the Hot Air Balloon punch outs to the circle in all four directions so the rounded ends stick out past the edge of the circle a bit. Use additional Tear & Tape if needed.
Using Tear & Tape on the ends, adhere the remaining 4 of the Hot Air Balloon punch outs to the flower so they overlap the first 4 petals. You can tuck them underneath the previous petals if you want. Trim the ends of the punch outs if needed using Paper Snips to make them a little shorter.
Use Tear & Tape to adhere the large, 3-petal die cut to the center of the flower. Then, use Tear & Tape to adhere the smaller, 3-petal die cut to the center of the flower at a different angle. Finally, use Tear & Tape to adhere the smallest, 3-petal die cut to the center of the flower at a different angle.
Pick out the larger, multi-prong flower center die and the smaller, multi-prong flower center die from the Magnolia Memory Dies. Put both dies on top of the So Saffron rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and/or paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Ruffle the prongs on the flower centers with your fingers.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the larger flower center die cut to the center of the flower. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the smaller flower center to the center of the flower at a slightly different angle.
Mount the "hello" sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Mossy Meadow Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining small white rectangle.
Pick out the open, stitched, label die from the Perfect Parcel Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the sentiment is centered. Run through the tool.
Adhere the sentiment label cut out to the lower right side of the top of the box so it sticks out at an angle over the right side of the box a bit.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the Petal Pink 5/8" Organdy Striped Ribbon.
Fold the ribbon in half.
Adhere the folded ribbon to the top of the box using a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the folded end so the open ends stick out over the upper left corner a bit. Trim the ends.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape holding the ribbon in place. Add more Tear & Tape to the bottom of the layered flower. Remove the protective backings and adhere the flower to the top of the box on the left side so it overlaps the folded end of the ribbon and the left edge of the sentiment label a bit.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick tool to pick up a small or medium gem from a sheet of Gold Faceted Gems being sure to get the adhesive as well. Adhere it to the center of the flower.
