F un fold card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Whisper White Thick Cardstock at 4-1/4" x 8" and scored at 1-1/4", 2-1/2", 5-1/2" and 6-3/4"
- 4 pieces each 1" x 4" of mushrooms and leaves on white background design from Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper, cut so the mushrooms are vertical
- 1" x 5-1/2" from Mango Melody Cardstock
- 3/4" x 5-1/4" of rows of white dotted circle flowers on red background design from Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
Mount the "Just a note...," or "enjoy the simple moments" sentiment from the Home To Roost Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center panel of the thick white card base as close to the bottom as you can.
Mount the wild grasses image from the Home To Roost Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center panel of the thick white card base as close to the top as you can on the left side of the center panel. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it again on the right side of the center panel. Clean the stamp with the Simply Shammy or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave it on the block.
Ink up the wild grasses stamp with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp once onto Grid Paper, then WITHOUT re-inking stamp it in the center panel of the thick white card base so it overlaps the two Crumb Cake grass images in the center and is a bit lower. Clean the stamp with the Simply Shammy or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub and put it away.
Adhere the four strips of Painted Seasons Designer Paper with the mushrooms to the four side panels of the card base.
Accordion fold on all the score lines. The two score lines closest to the center panel should be folded as valley folds. The two outer crease lines should be folded as mountain folds. Use a Bone Folder if desired for sharp creases.
Adhere the long, red strip of Painted Seasons Designer Paper to the center of the Mango Melody strip of cardstock to create the bridge piece.
Place the card base and bridge piece on the Stampin' Pierce Mat so the left end of the bridge piece is even with the left edge of the outer left panel and the bottom of the bridge piece is about 1-1/4" up. Use the Paper-Piercing Tool to poke a hole through all layers.
Pick out a Whisper White brad from the Basic Brads. Insert the prongs through the hole. Flip the pieces over and bend the prongs of the brad flat.
Fold the left panels in over the center of the card base and extend the right panels. Place the card base and bridge piece on the Stampin' Pierce Mat so the right end of the bridge piece is even with the right edge of the outer right panel. Use the Paper-Piercing Tool to poke a hole through all layers.
Pick out the same size and style of Whisper White brad from the Basic Brads. Insert the prongs through the hole. Flip the pieces over and bend the prongs of the brad flat.
Mount the rooster image from the Home To Roost Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white square.
Pick out the stitched square framelit from the Stitched Shapes Framelits that cuts out a 2-1/8" square. Place the stamped rooster image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the stitched square framelit on top so it is centered over the rooster image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Place the stamped rooster diamond cut out on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the dark colors first and then the light colors to blend the colors and color in the spaces. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Light and Dark Poppy Parade Markers to color in the rooster's comb, wattle, neck, back, and some tail feathers.
Use the Light and Dark Mango Melody Markers to color in his wing and some tail feathers.
Use the Dark and Light Pumpkin Pie Markers to color in the rest of his body and some tail feathers.
Use the Dark and Light Crumb Cake Markers to color the dirt under his feet.
Use the Color Lifter Marker as needed to remove excess color.
Put a couple of Stampin' Dimensionals in the center of the bridge piece about 1/2" apart. Remove the protective backings and adhere the colored rooster square cut out to the bridge piece.
The card stands for display. To mail the card in an envelope, fold the left side in accordion style and extend the right side.
