Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Summer Splash Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-3/4" x 5-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2 strips each 1" x 5-1/2" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 5" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" square from Pretty Peacock Cardstock
- 2-1/4" square from Summer Splash Cardstock
- 2-1/8" square from Adhesive Sheets
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Summer Splash Cardstock
Insert the 3-3/4" x 5-1/2" Basic White rectangle into the So Swirly Embossing Folder. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Tip: Be careful, this embossing folder is very large and barely fits through the machine. Make sure none of the folder is hanging over the edge of the platform or it will get caught and will mess up the folder and/or your machine.
Place the dry embossed Basic White rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Rub a Small Blending Brush across the open Pool Party Ink Pad to get it inky. Very lightly rub the inky brush over the dry embossed white rectangle so you get a little bit of blue color on the raised areas. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Adhere the two thin strips of Pool Party cardstock to the left and right edges of the vertical, dry embossed and blended white rectangle so about 1/8" of blue shows on the edges. The top and bottom edges will all be even.
Adhere the matted, dry embossed and blended white rectangle to the front of the Summer Splash card so it is centered side to side and the top and bottom edges are all even.
As you are ready to stamp using the Hot Air Balloon Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large balloon top with an opening in the center image from the Hot Air Balloon Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Summer Splash Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the remaining white, horizontal rectangle. Leave room to stamp other images and cut things out.
Mount the center balloon image with scallops from the Hot Air Balloon Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Pool Party Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the previously stamped balloon image so the dots are at the tops of the scallops.
Mount the small balloon top with four stripes image from the Hot Air Balloon Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Coastal Cabana Ink Pad. Stamp it near the top of the horizontal white strip next to the first stamped balloon image leaving room to stamp more images and cut everything out.
Mount the small balloon top with three stripes and a base image from the Hot Air Balloon Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Summer Splash Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the of the previously stamped small balloon image so it lines up between the previously stamped stripes.
Mount the small balloon basket (gondola) image from the Hot Air Balloon Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it on the end of the white strip 2 times leaving room to stamp another image and cut everything out. Remember to re-ink the stamp!
Mount the large balloon basket (gondola) image from the Hot Air Balloon Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it on the end of the white strip in an open space leaving room to cut everything out.
Pick out the matching, large open balloon die, the matching small, open balloon die, and the large and small open basket (gondola) dies from the Hot Air Balloon Dies. Put them on top of the stamped images on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so they are centered over the images. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Repeat with the second small basket (gondola) image.
Mount the "wish big" sentiment from the Hot Air Balloon Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Summer Splash strip.
Pick out the curved banner die from the Hot Air Balloon Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment. Run through the machine.
Pick out the open heart die from the Hot Air Balloon Dies. Put it on top of the Pretty Peacock square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets square. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets square to one side of the Summer Splash square. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the striped heart die from the Hot Air Balloon Dies. Put it on top of the Summer Splash square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Summer Splash (blue green) side is face up. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Carefully remove the protective backing from the back of the striped heart cut out. Adhere it to the center of the Pretty Peacock heart cut out.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Summer Splash 3/8" Bordered Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay all the pieces on the card front as shown to figure out spacing and placement. Once happy, adhere the pieces in place one at a time. Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the basket (gondola) cut outs. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment cut out. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot. Use Stampin' Seal to adhere everything else.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 large and 2 small Pretty Peacock gems from a sheet of Tinsel Gems Four-Pack making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown.
