Avant Garden Birthday |

T his is the first in a series of cards made with free Sale-a-Bration items. This card was used as my swap card for December

The base is Crumb Cake. Atop that base is a strip (2" x 5") of Designer Series Paper from the Serene Scenery Paper Stack. I cut the new Lace Doilies in half and attached it next to the strip of pretty paper (I used tiny amounts of the Fine Tip Glue pen to the larger pieces of the doily).
For the flower, I stamped the flower onto watercolor paper, using the archival Basic Black ink. Let that dry well. I then colored the flowers with the new Watercolor Pencils and used my Aqua Painter to spread the color out. Once it was all dry, I used some Wink of Stella to add sparkle to the blooms.
Next I cut out the stamped image using the largest oval of the Stitched Shapes Frames. I love the look of the stitching! I cut out the scalloped oval of Delightful Dijon using the Layering Ovals Dies.
Taking some of the 5/8" Delightful Dijon Ribbon, I wrapped it around the bottom half of the oval and tied into a knot. TIP: Have problems tying ribbon without it slipping? Just use a glue dot to hold it in place while you tie it!
Attach to the card with dimensionals
The sentiment was stamped in Delightful Dijon on Very Vanilla card stock and cut out using the Stylish Stems Framelits. This set of framelits has two sizes that layer and I cut out the larger one in Delightful Dijon. Using dimensionals, add the sentiment to the card.
