Fun Fold Swap Card |
|
T his is the card I made for an organized OnStage swap. It's a great fun fold card.

This card starts with a Crumb Cake card base cut 5.5 x 12. Using the Simply Scored Score Board, score at 1.5, 3, 5.5, 8. Fold like a fan. You may find it easier to add the other parts first before folding.
I then took Blushing Bride cardstock cut to fit the different panels. Cut 5.25 x 1.25, 5.25 x 2.25, 5.25 x 3.75. Not all panels will have this Blushing Bride. One panel is plain and one has a panel of Very Vanilla cut to 5.25 x 2.25 (sentiment will be stamped on the very vanilla piece)
The Designer Paper (DSP) is Falling in Love and I used two different papers. The butterfly paper was cut 5x1 and 5x3.5. The other paper was cut 5x2.
Using Very Vanilla, I cut out the circle using the Stitched Shapes Dies and backed it with a Sweet Sugarplum scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Dies. I stamped the sentiment from Sending Thoughts in Sweet Sugarplum. When you adhere this circle to your card be sure to add adhesive (I used fast fuse throughout this project) only on the part of the circle that will touch the front of the card--you don't want it to stick to the next fold. Attached to the top of the circle is a butterfly punched out of Blushing Bride Glimmer paper using the Elegant Butterfly punch. I put a tiny bit of dimensional at the top of the body of the butterfly and some fast fuse at the bottom so that it would sit on the top of the circle.
The second panel is plain. The third panel uses the bokeh type paper from the Falling in Love DSP. I cut out the butterflies in Sweet Sugarplum using the die from Timeless Tags Dies. I don't mind telling you this was a pain in the butt! But using tiny amounts of the Fine Tip Glue I added them to the side of the card. See the photo above. I also punched out the larger butterfly using the Bitty Butterfly punch.
The fourth panel has the very vanilla on it and I stamped the sentiment in Sweet Sugarplum and added a small butterfly to the top.
The final panel has three butterflies--one punched from the Elegant Butterfly, one from Bitty Butterfly, and one cut with the Bold Butterfly Framelits. I used the Big Shot Brush to get all the little pieces out of that die cut butterfly.
Rhinestones on the butterflies finish the card.
If you are folding now, use your bone folder to get crisp folds. This card is not going to lie flat on it's own but will stand on a mantel. You could also add a belly band if you wanted to keep it flat.
