Excellent Eggs Easter Bunny Bags and Card |
F un treat bags and matching card for Easter using Stampin' Up! products.
For the bag:
Cut cardstock, Window Sheets, and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 6-3/4" x 10-1/2" of thin, multicolor stripes on white background design from Delightfully Eclectic 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, pay attention to the direction of the stripes
- 2-3/4" x 3-1/4" from Window Sheets
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/2" from Fresh Freesia Cardstock
Put the striped designer paper rectangle on your Paper Trimmer so a short edge is along the top. Score at 1-3/4" down one long edge.
Put the striped designer paper rectangle on your Paper Trimmer so a long edge is along the top. Score at 1-3/4", 4-3/4", 6-1/2", and 9-1/2".
Fold on all score lines. Use the Bone Folder to get sharp creases.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut up from the bottom long edge to the horizontal 1-3/4" score mark along each of the vertical score lines to create the bottom flaps.
Fold the bottom flaps up, but do NOT adhere.
Place the folded designer paper on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the folded edge is on the bottom and 1/2" flap on the end and the 3" panel beside it are firmly on the platform. Pick out the open egg die that cuts out a 2-3/4" tall egg from the Excellent Eggs Dies. Put it on top of the 3" panel at a slight angle so it is centered side to side on the panel and about 1" from the folded edge. Run through the machine only far enough to cut out the shape and then crank the platform back the other direction. Remove the pieces. KEEP THE BAG WITH THE EGG SHAPE CUT INTO THE PANEL AND THE EGG SHAPE CUT OUT.
Note: You will cut a little bit of the one bottom flap out. That is okay.
Note: You can use the egg shape cut out on the matching card or save it to use on another project.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the Window Sheet rectangle over the hole in the bag panel on the back side. Carefully put small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive in place on the back side of the bag where they will be covered by the Window Sheet rectangle. Remove the protective backings and adhere the Window Sheet rectangle in place.
Note: Try to keep adhesive from extending past the Window Sheet or the treats you put inside might stick to the adhesive.
Put strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive along the back side of the 1/2" flap on the end of the designer paper. Remove the protective backings and adhere the ends together to form an open rectangular tube.
Fold the bottom flaps in to form the bottom of the bag. Use strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the edges of the big flaps to hold everything together. Use a Bone Folder to firmly press the bottom flaps together from inside the bag.
Unlock the Easter Bunny Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the white cardstock rectangle into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Adhere the bunny punch out to the front of the bag as shown so it overlaps the egg shaped window cut into the front of the card and the bottom is about 3/4" from the bottom of the bag and the tail just touches the left side of the bag.
Unlock the Banners Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the the Fresh Freesia strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the inward notch) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch. Repeat on the other end.
Mount the "happy Easter" sentiment from the Excellent Eggs Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched Fresh Freesia strip.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment strip to the bottom of the front of the bag as shown so it is centered side to side, just covers the bottom of the bunny punch out, and is about 1/4" from the bottom of the bag.
Pinch the top of the bag together. Use the handheld circle punch to punch two holes through all the layers along the top of the bag in the center about 1/2" from the top and about 3/4" apart. Try to keep the holes in line with each other.
Fill the bag with treats.
Cut an 8" piece of the Night Of Navy 3/8" Bordered Ribbon so it has a sharp angle on each end.
Pinch the filled bag shut and thread the ribbon through the holes in the top of the bag from the front. Cross the ribbon over in the back and thread the ends back through the opposite holes to the front of the bag. Trim the ends of the ribbon.
Tip: Use a floss threader to help pull the ribbon through the holes.
For the card:
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Old Olive Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Misty Moonlight Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square of large white dots on yellow background design from Delightfully Eclectic 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 5-1/2" from Old Olive Cardstock
- striped Delightfully Eclectic Designer Paper egg cut out from bag front earlier
Mount the "hello Spring" sentiment from the Excellent Eggs Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it in the upper right corner of the horizontal Misty Moonlight rectangle.
Pick out the long, solid die with lines across it from the Beautiful Balloons Dies. Put it on top of the Old Olive strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut along one long edge of the die cut Old Olive strip to make it fringe. Cut the line so it is a bit wavy.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the uncut long edge to the bottom of the stamped Misty Moonlight rectangle. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess cardstock along the left, right, and bottom edges as needed.
Cut a 6" piece of the Night Of Navy 3/8" Bordered Ribbon. Lay the ribbon across the matted cardstock/fringe rectangle about 1/8" from the bottom edge. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Misty Moonlight rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Old Olive card.
Adhere the striped designer paper egg cut out from the bag earlier to the front of the card as shown at a slight angle so the bottom of the egg is just tucked into the grass fringe.
Mount the smaller, decorated with lines and dots egg image from the Excellent Eggs Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white dots on yellow background Delightfully Eclectic Designer Paper square.
Pick out the matching, open egg die from the Excellent Eggs Dies. Put it on top of the stamped image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the image is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Adhere the dotted designer paper egg cut out to the front of the card as shown at a slight angle opposite that of the first egg so the bottom of the egg is just tucked into the grass fringe and it overlaps the right edge of the striped egg.
Unlock the Easter Bunny Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the white cardstock rectangle into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Adhere the bunny punch out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the right side of the dotted egg cut out and the bottom is just tucked into the grass fringe.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Night Of Navy 3/8" Bordered Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front on the left side of the card. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
