1 3/4 x 3/4 in terracotta tile and pretty peacock
Die-cut from Floral gallery dies.
also a baggie of Gilded leafing.
What you will need
Tear and Tape adhesive and a TUB for Gilded leafing.
Trimmer.
The first step in making this beauty will be cutting your beautiful piece of designer series paper. Yes, I know it seems hard to do. Just imagine cutting the entire piece of 12 x 12. A little hard to do, but the effect is so worth it here.
Please cut a 1/4 inch off the DSP; yes, you read that right. We will save this piece for the inside if you so desire.
So your dimensions on the DSP will be 4 1/4 x 5.
You are going to cut slightly at a diagonal across the 5 sides. I used my Stampin' Up! trimmer here. First, I scored where I wanted to trim to make sure that the angles were good.
I started about 1/4 an inch from the top. Any way you cut this is OK. I did 5 but thought 4 cuts would be a bit better allowing the picture to come throught.
Once you have the DSP cut up into your thin strips we will piece it back together on the pretty peacock cardstock.
Lay them and glue them on top of the cardstock leaving the 1/4 to 1/8th inch border around the DSP.
Now that you have them adhered down this is where we will use the tear tape.
Take your tear tape and run it down each of your cuts. It is OK if you get some on your DSP. I find using 1/4 inch tear tape the best here. Makes everything so much more even.
Now we are getting into the fun!!! Take an embossing buddy if you have one and run it across the of your card front. (DO NOT REMOVE THE TEAR TAPE ADESIVE YET)
Once that is done remove your gilded leafing into a container.
You now can remove your tear tape one at a time firmly pressing the gilded leafing into the adhesive. Some will get all over everything. If you are adventurous you can do this all at one time with all of your tear and tape strips.
Once you have the gilded leafing pressed into your adhesive you will take a sponge or firm brush to remove any remaining gilded leafing and pushing what is stuck completely into the adhesive.
Now take a Swiffer cloth and wipe off the card front and any mess you may need to get up off the table. Because this gilded leafing is almost like glitter and you know what they say about glitter right?
At this point, you have your focal point complete.
Take your white cut piece for your sentiment and stamp it on.
Then you can use dimentionals to adhere it to the small piece of pretty peacock cardstock.
Place this upon your beautiful piece of art.
Add this card front to your piece of Thick cardstock and you are done.
