T his is a tutorial to show you how easy it is to make swing cards using Soft Seedling stamp set from the July - December 2022 mini catalog.
Project Recipe
Dimensions:
Crushed Curry: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" scored at 4-1/4" and 6-5/8" (or 2-1/8" from the opposite side) It's easiest if you don't fold at the 2-1/8" score line until after we cut half the scalloped edge with our die; 4" x 3".
White: 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" layer; 3-1/2" x 2" Greeting
6" x 6" 2022-2024 DSP: 5-1/4" x 4"; 5-1/4" x 1-7/8"
Gold 6" x 6" Metallic Specialty Paper: 3-1/2" x 3-1/2"
Adhesive Sheets: 3" x 1"
Use the second largest scallop die from the Stitched So Sweetly die set to cut the half scallop rectangle from the front of the card.
Next, let's go ahead and cut out the full die from Crushed Curry cardstock for inside using the same size die. Set aside.
Use the fourth smallest stitched rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies set on the Basic White cardstock.
We need to shorten this piece because it's too long for the scallop rectangle die. See the video at https://youtu.be/39RwExovPe4 about 44:43 into the video. Please subscribe while you're there.
Using Crushed Curry Ink pad randomly stamp whirligigs onto the white cardstock.
Now stamp "for you" greeting onto the same cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Set aside.
Peel off one side of the Adhesive Sheet and add it to the back of the Gold Metallic Specialty Paper. It doesn't need to be completely covered, just enough to hold the die cut to the card after you die-cut it. .
After you run the die and paper through the Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine, use the Take Your Pick tool to poke out all the pieces. The pieces attached to the adhesive sheet will likely come out when you peel off the back.
Adhere the cut-out to the white cardstock at an angle or however you desire.
See video at https://youtu.be/86PIx80ECv4 about 52:57 into the video.
Using a piece of tape to cover the word, "so" on the "so grateful" sentiment. Tap the stamp onto the Cherry Cobbler ink then remove the tape from the red rubber.
Center the word, "grateful" and stamp it in the middle of the leaf label.
Adhere the leaf on top of the die-cut.
Adhere the layer to the front of the card, centered on the scalloped rectangle.
Stamp the sentiment "Thinking of you" on white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Carefully cut between "Thinking" and "of" at an angle. Angle both ends of the white cardstock.
Adhere the word "Thinking" to the Crushed Curry scallop we set aside in Step 2, and "of you" below that.
See video at 1 minute from the start.
Hover the scallop die under the top layers on the front of the card and press it against the inside.
See the video at about 1 hour 3 minutes from the start..
Finish the card off by adhering Festive Pearls to the front of the card.
