C ute Christmas treat boxes using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 5" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 5" square from red with white dots or green with white dots design from Sweetest Christmas 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
Put Stampin' Seal all over the back of the designer paper square. Adhere it to the large Basic White square.
Pick out the box die from the Design A Treat Box Dies. Put it on top of the designer paper/cardstock square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the designer paper is face up. Run through the machine. Keep all the pieces.
Use the Bone Folder to fold on all score lines.
Use small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the thin tabs on the sides of some of the rectangles to adhere the sides together and form the box bottom.
Fill the box with treats - candy, coins, jewelry, etc.
Fold down the tops of the box with the curves on top and bring the two curves together in the center so they are touching and pointing up.
One at a time, slide the slits in the other points over the curves and lock in place.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off some of the sides of the designer paper/cardstock leftover after cutting out the box. You'll use the larger bits to cut out the bow tops in the next step.
Tip: If you made both colors of box, then mix and match the designer paper to make the bow tops!
Pick out both of the bow top dies from the Design A Treat Box Dies. Put one bow top die on top of a scrap of designer paper/cardstock on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the designer paper is face up Put the other bow top die on top of a scrap of designer paper/cardstock on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the white cardstock is face up. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use your fingers to squish a Mini Glue Dot as small as you can. Stick the center of one of the bow cut out bottoms to the squished up glue dot. Use it to attach it to the top flap on one side of the curved handle on the box top. Repeat with the other bow cut out on the other side. If desired, use a squished up Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bows together at the top.
Mount the "Christmas Cheer" or "candy cane wishes & mistletoe kisses" sentiment from the Sweet Candy Canes Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Real Red or Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it on the small rectangle of white either vertically for the "Christmas Cheer" or horizontally for the "candy cane wishes & mistletoe kisses".
Pick out the large scalloped edge tag die from the Design A Treat Box Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered either vertically or horizontally. Run through the machine.
Use a small dot of Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen behind one corner of the tag cut out to adhere it to the top of the box.
If desired, use a Mini Glue Dot on the underside of the top flap to help keep the box closed.
