Q uick and easy birthday cards using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card cut at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4" (I used Pool Party, Petal Pink, and Purple Posy Cardstock)
- 4" x 5-1/4" from cardstock (I used Bermuda Bay, Terracotta Tile, and Blackberry Bliss)
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of greens and blues, purples and reds, or orange reds, yellows, and pinks watercolor blobs and splatters on white background design from Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/4" square of light green dots on darker green background, or scalloped pink lines on orange red background, or light purple diagonal stripes on dark purple background design from Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper
- 1-1/2" x 4-1/4" from cardstock (I used Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink, and Purple Posy)
-1-1/2" x 3" from Whisper White or Basic White Cardstock
Adhere the large rectangle of watercolor blobs and splatters Ice Cream Corner Designer Paper to the coordinating color of 4" x 5-1/4" cardstock and then to the front of the coordinating color of card.
Pick out the smooth circle die from the Layering Circles Dies that cuts out a circle that is 3" in diameter. Put it on top of the square of coordinating Ice Cream Corner Designer Paper on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the tool.
Adhere the designer paper circle cut out to the front of the card in the middle.
Unlock the Banner Triple Punch. Slide one short edge of the coordinating color cardstock strip into the punch as far as it will go. Punch.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sweet Ice Cream Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "happy birthday" sentiment from the Sweet Ice Cream Set on Block H. Ink it up with the coordinating color of ink pad (I used Old Olive, Terracotta Tile, and Blackberry Bliss) and stamp it in the center of the punched cardstock strip so the notch is on the right side and the sentiment is as close as possible to the notch.
If you are making different colors of these cards, remember to clean the stamp between colors of ink using the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy.
Adhere the punched sentiment strip to the front of the card so it is centered over the designer paper circle cut out and the ends of the notched end are about 1/2" from the right edge of the card.
Mount the curved, top part of the popsicle image from the Sweet Ice Cream Set on Block C. Ink it up with the coordinating color of ink pad (I used Pool Party, Bumblebee, and Highland Heather stamped off) and stamp it near the top of the center of the white rectangle.
Tip: Since we don't have a Purple Posy Ink Pad, you can get the Purple Posy color by stamping off with Highland Heather.
If you are making different colors of these cards, remember to clean the stamp between colors of ink using the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy.
Mount the flat bottomed, bottom part of the popsicle image from the Sweet Ice Cream Set on Block B. Ink it up with the coordinating color of ink pad (I used Bermuda Bay, Terracotta Tile, and Blackberry Bliss) and stamp it over the previously stamped popsicle top part on the white rectangle so the edges line up.
If you are making different colors of these cards, remember to clean the stamp between colors of ink using the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy.
Mount the small, solid popsicle stick image from the Sweet Ice Cream Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it on the white rectangle so it connects with the bottom of the previously stamped popsicle in the center.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the popsicle with stick image by hand.
Use the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add some shimmer to the popsicle.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cut out and shimmered popsicle on stick image to the front of the card at a slight angle so it covers the left edge of the sentiment banner.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of a coordinating ribbon (I used Pool Party 3/8" Sheer Ribbon, Terracotta Tile 1/2" Scalloped Linen Ribbon, and Purple Posy 1/2" Scalloped Linen Ribbon).
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the top of the stick at the base of the popsicle.
