Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Summer Splash Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3-1/2" x 4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Summer Splash Cardstock
Place the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White Cardstock in the center of some Grid Paper on your work surface so it is horizontal.
Open the Summer Splash Ink Pad. Find the short edge where the actual ink pad is closest to the edge. Start off the cardstock on the Grid Paper and lightly drag the ink pad horizontally across the cardstock. Repeat a few more times until you have the coverage you want.
Open the Soft Sea Foam Ink Pad. Find the short edge where the actual ink pad is closest to the edge. Start off the cardstock on the Grid Paper and lightly drag the ink pad horizontally across the cardstock. Repeat a few more times until you have the coverage you want and you've filled in most of the white spaces.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sea Turtle Set or the Wonderful Thoughts Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the school of fish image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block C so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Summer Splash Ink Pad. Stamp the fish randomly around on the inked up, horizontal, white rectangle. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the cardstock.
Adhere the inked up and stamped white rectangle to the center of the Soft Sea Foam rectangle and then to the center of the Summer Splash card.
Mount the large sea turtle image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block E so the smooth side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Summer Splash Ink Pad. Stamp the image in the center of the 3-1/2" x 4" white rectangle. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy.
Flip the cleaned large sea turtle image over and mount it on Block E so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up.
Ink up the large, bumpy, sea turtle image on Block E with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp the image over the top of the previously stamped turtle on the white rectangle. Clean the stamp and put it away.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the completely stamped large sea turtle image by hand.
If desired, use the side of the brush tip of the Pretty Peacock Stampin' Write Marker to outline the edges of the cut out turtle.
Pick out the die from the Spotlight On Nature Dies that cuts out a circle that is 2-1/4" in diameter and has small lines all around the outer edge. Put it on top of the Summer Splash square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Mount the "hello," "thanks," or "hi, friend" sentiment from the Wonderful Thoughts Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it three times on the circle cut out so the words are staggered a bit as shown. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Adhere the stamped circle cut out to the front of the card so it is about 5/8" from the top and right edges of the card front.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the turtle cut out to the front of the card so the head overlaps the sentiment circle as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 large and 2 small clear opal rounds from a sheet of Opal Rounds Assortment making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the card front as shown around the sentiment circle.
