Project Recipe
~Choose a 12"x12" piece of designer series paper, this is patterned paper with a different pattern on each side.
~With the pattern for the inside of the project facing up, use the template shown here to score each side at 4" and 8".
~Pinch corners and burnish to make the crease shown on the pattern.
~Use a bone folder to crease folds shown so far. Fold these in "valley" format, so the scores are folded and burnished in.
~Flip paper over and score as the pattern shows in attached photo/tutorial.
~It helps to make little pencil tics where the scored lines meet each side. This will help with scoring.
~You can score using a ruler and scoring tool, a scoring board, or a trimmer that has a scoring blade.
~Fold on these score lines with valley folds, this side up. Burnish with bone folder.
Fold up project, first so it looks like a star shape, as shown here.
To finish the fold, crease each side of the "star" up and fold the ends in. Tuck in so it forms a finished square.
~Time to decorate!
~You can keep it closed with a length of ribbon wrapped around folded project and tied into a cute bow.
~Or...you can make a "belly band". I cut a 1" x 12" strip of white cardstock. I used the Zinnias embossing folder to add texture to the strip. Wrap around and tap into center on front.
~Choose a shape with florals, a sentiment, or whatever image you would like to decorate the front.
~Unfold completely so you can decorate the inside.
~Cut a square of cardstock 3 3/4"x3 3/4".
~Decorate this square for inside with image, sentiment, etc.
~I stamped some Zinnias from the stamp set in petal pink ink. Then stamped the sentiment "Sending flowers and thinking of you" at an angle.
~Glue this square onto center of inside.
~Decorate inside with more sentiments, diecut flowers etc.
~Add a bow, sequins etc. onto front and as desired.
~Please know if you are mailing this in the mail, it does cost extra postage to mail a square envelope or one that is over 1/4" deep.
