F un birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Emerald Envy Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Real Red Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-5/8" x 3-7/8" from Real Red Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
Place the large Whisper White rectangle into the Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the dry embossed white layer to the large Real Red rectangle and then to the front of the Emerald Envy card.
Ink up the Stylized Birthday stamp with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom of the smaller white rectangle.
Place a piece of Grid Paper on top of a Stampin' Pierce Mat to protect it from ink. As you are ready to stamp using the Balloon Celebration Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the small, solid balloon image from the Balloon Celebration Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Emerald Envy Ink Pad. Stamp it just above the sentiment on the right side so the balloon is going off the right edge of the cardstock. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the stamp with the Emerald Envy Ink Pad. Stamp it to the left of the previously stamped balloon as close to the top edge of the cardstock as you can. Leave about 1/2" between the two balloons.
Mount the set of three small, solid stars image from the Balloon Celebration Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Emerald Envy Ink Pad. Stamp it on top of the full balloon image on the left.
Mount the single string image from the Balloon Celebration Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Basic Gray Archival Ink Pad. Stamp it so it appears to be coming out of one of the balloons and going off the cardstock below the sentiment. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the stamp with the Basic Gray Archival Ink Pad. Stamp it so it appears to be coming out of the other balloon and goes off the cardstock below the sentiment. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the stamp with the Basic Gray Archival Ink Pad. Stamp it so it appears to be coming out of the space between the two balloons and goes off the cardstock below the sentiment.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle to the center of the small red rectangle. Then, adhere them to the center of the card front.
Pick out one of the Emerald Envy star shapes from the 2016-2018 In Color Glitter Acrylic Shapes. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere it to the card front over the tail of the "y" in the word "happy."
Pick out a Real Red balloon from the Balloon Honeycomb Embellishments. Peel the protective backing off one side of the balloon embellishment. Adhere the balloon embellishment to the card front so it overlaps the side of the stamped balloon image on the left. Remove the protective backing from the other side and adhere it in place so it overlaps the balloon image on the right.
Tip: If you are worried about the honeycomb embellishment getting smashed in the mail, then adhere only one side to your card front. Add a little note to the recipient letting them know to peel the protective backing off the other side and adhere it in place to complete their fun card.
