B right birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Melon Mambo Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" of pink and red stripes design from Merry Bold & Bright 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the lines are vertical on the horizontal rectangle
- 2" x 3" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 2-1/4" from Melon Mambo Cardstock
Pick out the rectangle die that cuts out a rectangle that is 2-5/8" x 3-7/8" from the Deckled Rectangles Dies. Put it on top of the 4" x 5" white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered on the rectangle. Run through the machine. KEEP BOTH PIECES!
Adhere the piece of Merry Bold & Bright Designer Paper to the back of the white rectangle with the rectangle cut out of the center so the pink and red stripes show through the cut out.
Adhere the white rectangle with designer paper attached to the front of the Melon Mambo card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Carousel Horses Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Lay one of the small horses on a pole image from the Carousel Horses Set stamping side down on your work surface. Press Block D to it to mount the stamp. Ink up the stamp with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 2" x 3" white rectangle.
Pick out the matching, small horse on a pole die from the Carousel Horses Dies. Put it on top of the stamped horse on a pole image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Place the carousel horse cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends to color in the horse's saddle, girth, and chest band.
Use the Dark and Light Melon Mambo Stampin' Blends to color in the horse's mane and tail.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to remove any excess color.
Use the Wink Of Stella Clear Glitter Brush to color in the horse's pole.
Use Stampin' Seal and/or Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the colored carousel horse cut out to the front of the card so the pole just goes over the bottom edge of the rectangle cut out and the tail of the horse just goes over the left edge of the rectangle cut out.
Pick out the small base die from the Carousel Horses Dies. Put it on top of the Melon Mambo strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the base cut out to the front of the card so it is centered over the bottom of the pole.
Lay the large banner image from the Carousel Horses Set stamping side down on your work surface. Press Block H to it to mount the stamp. Ink up the stamp with the Melon Mambo Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle cut out of the center of the larger white rectangle on an earlier step.
Mount the short sentiment of choice from the Carousel Horses Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the stamped banner image.
Pick out the open banner die from the Carousel Horses Dies. Put it on top of the stamped banner image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Use Stampin' Seal and/or Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the sentiment banner cut out to the card front so the right edge overlaps the upper right side of the rectangle cut out as shown.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Silver & White 1/2" Sheer Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card so it is centered over the top of the pole.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one small, one medium, and one large Melon Mambo dot from a sheet of Glossy Dots Assortment making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them in a rough triangle in the lower right corner of the designer paper in the rectangle cut out.
