P retty card using several heat embossing techniques and Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and cotton paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Soft Succulent Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Evening Evergreen Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of tiny green splatters on white background design from Ever Eden 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 4-1/2" square of Soft Succulent cotton paper from Ever Eden 12" x 12" Cotton Paper
- 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" from Evening Evergreen Cardstock
Mount three of the leaf stem images from the Eden's Garden Stamp Set together on Block E so they form a rough triangle as shown.
It is easier to get all the leaf sprigs positioned properly if you mount them all on one block together. However, to gild them, you will want to ink up only 1 or 2 of the images at a time, stamp them, add Heat & Stick Powder, melt the powder, and press it into the Gilded Leafing. If you try to heat too much of the Heat & Stick Powder at one time, it will dry before you can add the Gilded Leafing.
Open the Gilded Leafing and pour at least some of it into a large container with a lid. Be careful, the leafing tends to go everywhere!
With the stamps rubber side up on the block, ink up only the leaf stem image on the left side of Block E using the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it on the horizontal Ever Eden Designer Paper rectangle so the top of the image is about 3/4" from the top of the designer paper and the right edge of the image is about 1-5/8" from the right edge of the designer paper.
Lay the VersaMark stamped designer paper rectangle on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some Heat And Stick Powder so it covers the leaf sprig. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
BE READY TO WORK QUICKLY!
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it just starts to melt. Place the designer paper with heated powder upside down into the Gilded Leafing container and press down lightly.
Remove the designer paper from the container and use the flat paintbrush or your fingers to brush off excess Gilded Leafing. Return the Gilded Leafing to the container to use again later.
With the stamps rubber side up on the block, ink up both of the leaf stem images on the right side of Block E using the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it on the horizontal Ever Eden Designer Paper rectangle so the top of the smaller image is about 1/4" from the top of the designer paper and the left edge of the larger image is about 1/4" from the left edge of the designer paper.
Lay the VersaMark stamped designer paper rectangle on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some Heat And Stick Powder so it covers both of the leaf sprigs. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.

Clean the leaf sprig stamps on Block E using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy, but leave them on the block.
Ink up the leaf sprig stamps on Block E using the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp them a couple of times between and over the gilded leaf blotches, remembering to re-ink the stamp each time and rotating the position of the stamp. Clean the stamps again using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy, but leave them on the block.
Pick out the long, skinny label with leafy ends die from the Eden Dies. Put it on top of the Evening Evergreen strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Mount the "Hello There" sentiment from the Eden's Garden Set on Block G. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the leafy ended label cut out slightly closer to the left side.
Lay the stamped sentiment cut out on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some gold powder from the Metallics Stampin' Emboss Powders so it covers the entire sentiment. Tap off excess powder. If needed, use a fine paintbrush to brush off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use a clothespin to hold the cardstock while using the Heat Tool to avoid burning your fingers.
Adhere the heat embossed sentiment cut out to the bottom right side of the stamped and gilded designer paper rectangle so the right edge with the leafy end hangs over the right edge of the paper. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off the excess.
Adhere the stamped and gilded designer paper with sentiment strip attached to the center of the large Evening Evergreen rectangle and then to the front of the Soft Succulent card.
Pick out a large brad from the Round & Square Brads (shape doesn't really matter). Clamp the prongs of the brad in a clothespin.
Press the head of the brad clamped in the clothespin onto the open VersaMark Ink Pad. Then, dip the head of the brad into the gold powder from the Metallics Stampin' Emboss Powders.
Heat the powder on the head of the brad using the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Release the altered brad from the clothespin and let it cool.
Pick out the scalloped circle dies from the Layering Circles Dies that cut out scalloped circles that are 1-3/16", 1-1/2", 1-3/4",and 2" diameter. Put all four dies on top of the cotton paper square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine.
On top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat, lay the 4 circle cut outs on top of each other so the shinier side of the cotton paper is up on all of the circles. They don't have to be evenly spaced.
Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to poke a hole through the center of the stacked circle cut outs.
Insert the prongs of the altered brad through the hole. Flip the circles over and flatten out the prongs for now.
Use your fingers to crumple the cotton paper circles in towards the center. Then, smooth them back out a bit to make a flower.
Unflatten the prongs on the back of the cotton paper flower so you can clamp them in the clothespin again.
Lightly dab and brush the edges of the crumpled cotton paper flower across the open VersaMark Ink Pad while holding the clothespin clamped on the prongs of the brad.
Dip the crumpled cotton paper flower into the gold powder from the Metallics Stampin' Emboss Powders to get a little powder on the edges while holding the clothespin clamped on the prongs of the brad.
Heat the powder on the edges of the crumpled cotton paper using the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth) while holding the clothespin clamped to the prongs of the brad.
Release the crumpled cotton paper flower from the clothespin and allow to cool.
Flatten the prongs of the brad back out on the back of the flower.
Use strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the back of the crumpled cotton paper flower to adhere it to the card front so it is centered over the ends of the stamped and gilded leaf sprigs.
Fluff the edges of the crumpled cotton paper flower with your fingers if needed.
