S oft and pretty Valentine or birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Calypso Coral Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Lost Lagoon Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of tightly packed pink roses design from Softly Stippled 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3" from Lost Lagoon Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Softly Stippled Designer Paper to the center of the large Lost Lagoon rectangle.
Cut a 5-1/2" piece of the Silver & White 1/2" Sheer Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the horizontal, matted designer paper about 1-1/4" from the bottom. Fold the ends of the ribbon over to the back and secure in place with small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape Adhesive strips and add some Stampin' Seal to the back of the Lost Lagoon rectangle. Adhere to the front of the Calypso Coral card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Heartfelt Hexagon Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the hatched edge tag outline from the Heartfelt Hexagon Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Lost Lagoon Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the horizontal vanilla strip leaving room to punch it out.
Mount the "sending you lots of love & hugs" sentiment from the Heartfelt Hexagon Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Calypso Coral Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the hexagon outline on the vanilla strip.
Unlock the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped sentiment image into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch
Pick out both little leaf sprig dies from the dies included with the Adoring Hearts Hybrid Embossing Folder. Put them on top of the small Lost Lagoon rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine leaving room to cut out a third. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed. Repeat with one of the dies so you have three little sprigs cut out.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the three little sprig cut outs to the back of the hexagon punch out so they will stick out on the upper left side.
Add more Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of the hexagon punch out. Remove the protective backings and adhere the hexagon punch out with sprigs attached to the front of the card so it is centered over the ribbon on the right side and is about 1" from the right side of the card.
Carefully punch out one small, open wing butterfly from a sheet of Paper Butterfly Accents.
Place the butterfly accent on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Tap the brush tip of the Light and Dark Calypso Coral and Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends all over the butterfly randomly. Use more of the Light Calypso Coral than the Dark. Then, color in the rest of the butterfly and blend it all together using the Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends.
Use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen on the back of the colored butterfly to adhere it to the card front as shown so it is at a slight angle in the upper left corner.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Silver & White 1/2" Sheer Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front on the right side of the sentiment punch out. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 5 tiny pearls from the sheet of Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown.
