Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips Scissors, and Cloud Punch:
- card from Shaded Spruce Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of thin diagonal white lines on blue background design from Sunny Days 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 1-3/4" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" square of Crushed Curry Cardstock
- 1-1/4" square of Poppy Parade Cardstock
- 1-1/4" square of Shaded Spruce Cardstock
- various clouds punched out with Cloud Punch or cut out by hand using Paper Snips Scissors from Sunny Days 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
Adhere the rectangle of diagonal white lines on blue Sunny Days Designer Paper to the front of the Shaded Spruce card.
If you haven't already done so, use the Cloud Punch and/or Paper Snips Scissors to punch or cut out some clouds from the Sunny Days Designer Paper.
Adhere the cloud cut outs/punch outs to the front of the card as shown using Stampin' Seal and/or Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen.
Mount the toucan image from the Jungle Pals Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white square.
Pick out the matching sloth die from the Jungle Pals Dies. Put the die on top of the stamped sloth image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Place the sloth cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends to add some small areas of green to the sloth as the moss/algae that grows on sloths.
Use the Light Basic Black Stampin' Blends to color in the sloth's nose and eyes and add highlights.
Use the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the sloth and blend the colors together.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to remove any excess color and blend the edges.
Cut three pieces each 1-3/4" long from the Tahitian Tide twine included in the 2022-2024 In Color Baker's Twine Pack.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the twine pieces to the back of the colored sloth cut out so the twine appears to be hanging off his front paws.
Remove the protective backings from the Dimensionals and add more as needed to the back of the sloth. Adhere the sloth to the card front as shown so he is about 5/8" from the right side of the card and about 1-1/4" from the bottom of the card. Make sure he is floating upside down and the pieces of twine are stretching up from his paws.
Pick out the small and large balloon dies from the Fluffiest Friends Dies. Put the small balloon die on top of the Crushed Curry square and the large balloon die on the Poppy Parade square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure neither the cardstock or the dies overlap. Run through the machine. Repeat with the large balloon die and the Shaded Spruce square.
Stretch the twine pieces up about as far as they will go so they are near the bottoms of the clouds as shown. Hold them in place with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Dimensionals, or small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Dimensionals or Tear & Tape pieces and adhere the balloons over the tops so they overlap each other a bit and the bottoms of the clouds.
Mount the "thanks for making me smile" sentiment from the Notes Of Nature Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the vertical, thin, white strip leaving room to punch it out.
Unlock the Bee Builder Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the bee body punching area so the stinger is on the top of the sentiment. Punch.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Shaded Spruce Stampin' Write Marker to carefully outline the edges of the speech bubble punch out.
Adhere the outlined speech bubble punch out at a slight angle to the front of the card as shown just to the left and slightly overlapping the sloth so the stinger bit is near the sloth's mouth.
