Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Shaded Spruce Cardstock at 4-1/4" x 8" and scored at 2-1/2"
- 2-1/4" x 4" of green and bluish flowers closely packed on dark green background design from Sunny Days 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the flowers are vertical on the vertical rectangle
- 3" square of green and bluish flowers closely packed on dark green background design from Sunny Days 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut in half on the diagonal
- 3" square from Shaded Spruce Cardstock, cut in half on the diagonal
- 2 pieces each 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" from Basic White Cardstock
Fold the card on the score line so the small flap is on the left and on top.
Cut a 4-3/4" piece of the Pool Party 5/8" Crinkle Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the vertical Sunny Days designer paper rectangle about 1/4" from the left edge. Make sure the flowers on the paper are properly positioned. Fold the ends of the ribbon over to the back and secure in place with small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape Adhesive strips and add some Stampin' Seal to the back of the designer paper rectangle. Adhere to the small front flap of the Shaded Spruce card.
Adhere the triangle of designer paper to the triangle of Shaded Spruce cardstock so all edges are even.
Note: Adding the cardstock to the back of the designer paper just makes it a little sturdier so you can tuck and untuck the card front without tearing the designer paper corner.
Put pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive along the top and left edges of the back of the triangle. Leave the long edge without any adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape and adhere the triangle to the upper right corner of the back of the Shaded Spruce card so the top and right edges are even.
Pick out the rectangle die that cuts out a rectangle that is 2-1/8" x 3-1/2" from the Deckled Rectangles Dies. Put it on top of one of the white rectangles on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other white rectangle.
As you are ready to stamp using the Softly Sophisticated Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Put one of the white rectangle cut outs on the Mat protected by Grid Paper. Mount the less leafy stems image from the Softly Sophisticated Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it on the horizontal deckled rectangle cut out so it is on the right edge and the stems go off the bottom edge.
Mount the grouping of smaller flowers and buds image from the Softly Sophisticated Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pool Party Ink Pad. Stamp the image on the deckled rectangle cut out so the flowers and buds line up with the openings on the previously stamped stems and leaves image.
Mount the leafier stems image from the Softly Sophisticated Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the back of the Shaded Spruce card as shown so only the bigger leaf is in the corner. Leave the stamp on the block.
Adhere the stamped deckled rectangle to the back of the Shaded Spruce card so it is roughly centered top to bottom, the left edge is about 3/8" from the fold, and the top right corner is tucked behind the triangle in the corner.
Put the remaining white rectangle cut out on the Mat protected by Grid Paper.
Re-ink the leafier stems image on Block C with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it on the horizontal rectangle cut out so it is on the left side with the bottom of the stem pointing to the left.
Mount the grouping of 2 larger flowers and 1 bud image from the Softly Sophisticated Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pool Party Ink Pad. Stamp the image on the deckled rectangle cut out so the flowers and bud line up with the openings on the previously stamped stems and leaves image.
Mount the "you're in my thoughts" sentiment from the Softly Sophisticated Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it in the bottom right corner of the deckled rectangle cut out as shown.
Put strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the rectangle cut out so the are only about 1-1/2" across on the back behind the flowers.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape strips and adhere the stamped rectangle cut out to the small front flap of the card so the left edge is just tucked under the ribbon and it covers the entire rectangle on the inside of the card and the top right corner can tuck under the designer paper corner on the back of the card. Make sure NO adhesive goes over the edge of the flap or the card won't open!
Cut a 4" piece of the Pool Party 5/8" Crinkle Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the front flap of the card. Tie in place with a half knot so it is centered over the bottom left corner of the white rectangle cut out. Trim the ends.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 large and 1 small Garden Green or Pretty Peacock pearls from the sheet of Blooming Pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the flowers on the front flap of the card as shown.
