S oft and pretty card using Stampin' Up! products and a fun technique with detailed die cuts.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- card from Purple Posy Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" from Whisper White Thick Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 3" from Purple Posy Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
Pick out the detailed, large, triangle of flowers and leaves die from the Springtime Impressions Dies. Put the die on top of the Whisper White Thick Cardstock rectangles on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool a few times. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and/or paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
As you are ready to stamp using the Vibrant Vases Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Place a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the solid image of the large group of wide open flowers on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Sea Foam Ink Pad. Stamp it onto the leaves on the die cut piece. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Don't worry if some green gets onto the flowers on the die cut piece. Clean the stamp using the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave it on the block.
Re-ink the solid flowers image with the Purple Posy Ink Pad. Stamp it onto the flowers on the die cut piece. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Don't worry if some purple gets onto the leaves on the die cut piece. Clean the stamp using the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave it on the block.
Tip: If you don't have the Purple Posy Ink Pad yet, you can get the same look by inking up the stamp with the Highland Heather Ink Pad and stamping off onto Grid Paper a couple of times before stamping on the die cut piece.
Re-ink the solid flowers image with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly onto some areas of the flowers on the die cut piece. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Don't worry if some purple gets onto the leaves on the die cut piece. Clean the stamp using the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave it on the block.
Use Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the stamped die cut piece to the front of the Purple Posy card so the triangle fits into the lower right corner.
Re-ink the solid flowers image with the Purple Posy Ink Pad. Stamp it in the upper right corrner of the white square so the top and right edges of the image are about 1/4" from the top and right edges of the cardstock. Clean the stamp using the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub and put it away.
Mount the outline image of the large group of wide open flowers on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Sea Foam Ink Pad. Stamp it over the previously stamped Purple Posy solid flowers on the white square. It doesn't have to line up perfectly.
Use the Soft Sea Foam Marker to color in the leaves on the flowers.
Slide the upper left corner of the stamped white square into the angle of the Detailed Trio Punch that punches the trio of pointy ovals on top of the small dot. Use the guides on the base of the punch to line up the corner in the punch. Press down firmly on the center of the punch to punch.
Slide the punched, upper left corner of the stamped white squaree into the angle of the Detailed Trio Punch that corner rounds. Use the guides on the base of the punch to line up the corner in the punch. Press down firmly on the center of the punch to punch.
Adhere the stamped and punched white square to the front of the card so it is about 5/8" from the top edge and 1-1/4" from the right edge and overlaps the triangle of the die cut piece.
Mount the "just for you" sentiment from the Vibrant Vases Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the strip of Purple Posy.
Trim the left edge of the stamped sentiment strip at a sharp upward angle. Trim the right edge so about 1/2" of cardstock is past the end of the sentiment.
Adhere the sentiment strip to the front of the card so it overlaps the lower left side of the white square and is about 1/8" from the bottom.
Cut a 4" piece of Purple 3/8" Tricolor Ribbon so both ends are sharply angled.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive horizontally across the card front along the bottom edge of the stamped white square. Remove the protective backing and adhere the piece of ribbon to the Tear & Tape so it overlaps the bottom of the sentiment strip a bit.
Mount the solid, tall, skinny vase image from the Vibrant Vases Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Sea Foam Ink Pad. Stamp onto Grid Paper. Then, WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp it upside down on the bottom of the long strip of white cardstock.
Tip: If you stamp the vase image upside down, it it easier to line it up in the punch for punching.
Mount the outline, tall, skinny vase with leaves image from the Vibrant Vases Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Sea Foam Ink Pad. Stamp it upside down on the bottom of the long strip of white cardstock over the previously stamped solid vase image.
Tip: If you stamp the vase image upside down, it it easier to line it up in the punch for punching.
Unlock the Vases Builder Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped vase image into the punch and get it centered in the corresponding tall, skinny vase punching area. Punch.
Adhere the vase punch out to the front of the card so it is just under the stamped flowers on the white square and overlaps the right edge of the sentiment strip and the top of the ribbon a tiny bit.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a small Purple Posy dot from a sheet of 2019-2021 In Color Faceted Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it over the hole punched in the upper left corner of the white square.
