I 'm using two sided fall-themed paper to create this lovely sympathy card. This layout can be used for any type of card...just change our the sentiments. Use what you have.
Project Recipe
These instructions are for the vertical sample shown. The horizontal version can be made in a very similar way. Just see sample for ideas.
Cut paper as follows:
~Card base- (Early Espresso) 5 1/2" x 5 1/2", score at 1/1/4" from one end. Cut a strip of the same color at 3/4" x 4" or whatever size works to mat the sentiment strip.
~Cut a strip of a coordinating cardstock (Crushed Curry) at 5/8" x 3 1/2" for the sentiment.
~Select the patterned paper design you want for your card. The back side of the paper will show on the inside of the card. Cut one piece at 4" x 5 1/2". Then choose a strip for the front, I chose the same pattern as was on the back of the patterned paper. Cut it at 1 1/8" x 5 3/8".
~Very Vanilla cardstock: 4" x 5 1/4" for the inside sentiment panel.
~
Stamp sentiments:
~On one of the strips, the smaller Crushed Curry piece, stamp using Early Espresso brown ink the sentiment for the front of the card. My sample used "with sympathy".
~Then stamp the sentiment in the same ink for the inside sentiment onto the Very Vanilla panel.
~Use a bone folder and crease the score on the card base. Orient the cardstock so the narrow panel is folded and on the left.
~Adhere the narrow patterned paper strip onto the front of the narrow panel of the card base. The pattern that will be on the inside of the card will be the side showing on this narrow strip.
~Open the base by folding the narrow panel back/open. Put adhesive on the narrow panel. Take the larger panel of paper and place it on the card base exactly where it should go. Close the narrow panel so the adhesive goes down onto the front.
~Adhere the Very Vanilla inside panel onto cardbase on the right inside.
~Adhere stamped front sentiment onto the Early Espresso strip. I cut the Crushed Curry ends at and angle before gluing it down. See example.
~Add dimensionals onto the back of the Early Espresso strip.
~Punch the smaller bough 2x out of some scraps of paper from the paper pack. I punched two small boughs out of a Cinnamon Cider pattern with some foiled accents.
~Remove liners from dimensionals and place onto card front. Use glue dots to adhere the boughs, one on upper left of sentiment strip and one on lower right of the strip.
~Add three gold pearls onto the sentiment strip on card front.
