T his Easter card is quick to assemble thanks to the use of Designer Series Paper (aka...DSP). Both sides will show, so keep that in mind. Also, keep in mind if the pattern is directional or not.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock:
Card base, highland heather, should be 5 1/2" x 5 1/4" Score a line in 1" from left edge, parallel to the 5 1/2" side.
Punch two 2" circles from highland heather cardstock
Cut Basic white to 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" for the inside of the card
Cut 6" x 6" patterned paper as follows:
1. Cut off 1/2" from the top. Keep in mind pattern orientation. This piece will decorate the front of the envelope.
2. Cut from left edge, a piece 4 1/4" wide for the card front.
3. Trim the leftover piece so one piece is 7/8" wide. This goes on the small flap on the front. The remaining piece will go inside of card for decorating.
Choose two sentiments for the card. One for front and one for inside. Punch out with the 1 3/4" punch.
Use bone folder to crease the card base so the narrow flap is on your left.
Adhere tear-n-tape to the back/inside of the flap near the cut edge.
You will be adhering the narrow strip of Shimmer paper to the panel where the tear-n-tape is. Fold flap over where it will be on the front. Position the shimmer paper so a small piece shows along the cut edge of the flap.
Remove tnt liner and press panel into place over shimmer paper. Press down well.
Trim shimmer paper, if needed along top and bottom.
Put adhesive onto back of that small flap panel, including over the shimmer paper you just glued on.
Open card base, position patterned paper in place and glue flap down. This will hold the front of the patterned paper into place.
Find the 7/8" wide patterned paper strip and flip it over so the other side shows. This will get glued onto the front of the small panel. Glue into place with any adhesive.
Get white panel that will go on the inside of the card. Glue a strip of left over patterned paper onto the edge of the white. Trim.
Glue white panel into place on inside of card. Any adhesive will work fine.
Glue inside sentiment onto 2" highland heather punched circle.
Glue this in place.
Glue front sentiment onto the other 2" colored circle for front.
Arrange ribbon in a loopy pattern, see example, and tape in place on back of front sentiment circles. Scotch tape works great.
Arrange 3 dimensionals onto circle back, over the ribbons.
Remove wax liners from dimensionals and adhere to card front.
Adhere 3 rhinestone to cardfront.
Clean up any adhesive on front or inside of card.
Stamp or sign the back of your creation.
