In Color Swap Card #2

For my second card for the In Color Swap I decided to use Berry Burst as my color.  I love this color!  I thought over so many different ideas before deciding on my design

I used the new Color Theory Designer Paper stack for the pretty papers on the card front.  (FYI:  these paper stacks are no longer bound and come loose in the package.  Certainly cheaper for Stampin' Up! to do this and they said people requested it to keep the glue off the paper).

To color the flower stamp from the Wood Words set, I used my markers to color each part, huffed on it to reactivate the ink and then stamped.  It's a great way to get multiple colors on one stamp and if you don't have the ink pads ( or want to save a little money) you can use your markers to color your stamps.  You can even use them to watercolor!  Just smear some marker ink on a clear stamp, and then you can pick up the color with a paint brush and some water.

I am really pleased with how this card turned out.  You can get all the details and printable instructions here

Once I get my swaps back, I'll share those cards with you too so you can see all the new colors!

Happy Stamping!

In Color Swap Card #1

I am involved in a couple of different swaps featuring the new In Colors.  For this first card, I chose Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist

I really love using the Big on Birthdays stamp set and I wanted to heat emboss this sentiment.  I could have done it in black but decided I wanted the Lemon Lime Twist with just the "to You" in black. How I did this was by inking up the stamp with Versamark and then immediately with the Lemon Lime Twist.  Stamp your card stock and cover with clear embossing powder. Heat set and you are done!

And don't forget the inside!

Details and instructions for this card are available here

I'll have the second card for you in a couple of days.

Incolorswap

I am in two different swaps using at least one of the new In Colors. This is the second card in the series

Delightful Daisy Birthday Card

Today is my daughter's birthday (also mine!) and she loves daisies as much as I do.  So when Stampin' Up! came out wth the Delightful Daisy Suite, I was so excited!  I LOVE this!  So it was a natural for me to make my daughter a birthday card using this suite.  (Purchasing the bundle of punch and stamp set saves you 10%)!

Don't you just love that ribbon?  It has straight stitches on the other side and you can use it either way!  The gold faceted gems really sparkle too!

And don't neglect the insides of your cards!

(my inside die is non-SU but I thought it went well with her card!)  The sentiment is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set which is also new in the catalog.

All the details and instructions are available here

Use your Scraps!

I am part of a One Sheet Wonder group and our template this month was for using a 6 x 6 sheet of designer paper.  I cut up several sheets of paper from one of my favorite retired paper stacks and came up with these three cards

These cards use 2" x 5" strips of paper and are then layered and added to a card base.  I heat embossed the sentiments on the vertical cards.  These are easy and simple ways to use up your scraps of paper.  I'll share some other ones once I get them made using more of these strips as well as using some 1" strips.
