Project Recipe
Gather your supplies:
-Gumball Greetings Bundle
-Pacific Point Cardstock (5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" along the 8 1/2" side)
-Daffodil Delight Cardstock (4" x 5 1/4"
-Real Red Cardstock (4 1/4" x 5")
-Scraps of Basic White, Window Sheets, and Silver Foil
-Inks: Basic Gray, Pacific Point, Real Red, Daffodil Delight
-Double Oval Punch
-Frosted Beads Assortment and Gumball Machine Shaker Domes
-Checks & Dots Embossing Folders
-Multipurpose Glue, Mini Dimensionals
-Trimmer, Snips, Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Line the base of the gumball machine's die piece where you'd want it to be on your card front (here I used the Daffodil Delight panel). Place the 'dome' die piece above the base and then the dome topper above that. Secure the dome die with washi tape or other low-tack adhesive tapes. Doing this will help ensure that your gumball machine will fit exactly where you want it to be without anything extending past your card.
Once the dome of the gumball machine is cut, run the panel through the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine with the 'Dots' folder of the "Checkers & Dots" combo. You'll have to run it through twice (just line up the dots on your second run and everything should align nicely)
Next, you can place your shaker dome. There is adhesive on both the front and back of the shaker dome piece. Remove the adhesive on the side that will go through the card front and press the card front down.
Turn your card front over and fill your dome with desired shaker elements. I used the Frosted Beads Assortment.
Cut out a piece of window sheet that will cover the back of the shaker dome. Once you've filled your dome as desired, peel off the adhesive backing and cover with the window sheet piece. This will help put together the rest of the card easily. (Thanks Amy Koenders for this tip!)
You can stamp the inside details of the gumball dome on a scrap of Basic White in Basic Gray. Putting a few dots of liquid glue on the Basic White piece will help you position this piece as you look through the front of the dome.
Next, cut your gumball machine pieces out of Real Red as shown.
I've cut some pieces out of scraps of black to show you how they assemble. I used liquid glue to put these together. You'll most likely get glue on your hands - some of these pieces are small (I did even though I used my crafting tweezers)
Cut the front detailed piece, lever, and coin piece out of Silver Foil and assemble the whole machine. I used Mini Dimensionals to raise the silver pieces.
To finish off the card, I stamped my sentiment on Basic White and punched it out using the Double Oval Punch. I punched out a border using the same punch in Real Red. I adhered those pieces together with glue and used two layers of Mini Dimensionals to adhere to the front.
I stamped 3 sets of gumballs (Pacific Point, Real Red, and Daffodil Delight). I placed 1 of each color coming out of the machine and then popped the others on the card front using Mini Dimensionals.
